Choose the best systems to integrate to your current Materials Management and HIS System.

Point of Use Supply Management System

Today’s Managed Care contracts have forced many hospitals to discover and track product usage by diagnosis, and procedure. This information is invaluable in discovering the bottom line costs to analyze your procedures and be competitive in a managed care environment. Scan-n-Go™ gives you the ability to identify, analyze and control costs simply, and easily.

The problem has existed for years. How to institute a Point of Use system that will not slow the already busy clinician with another task. EHS has years of experience designing systems that are simple to use.

What is Scan-n-Go™

Scan-n-Go™ is a totally integrated Point of Use System that will control inventory and Patient chargeable items. Each Remote Stocking Location (RSL) will have a Scan-n-Go™ unit located at the Point Of Use. All connected to a central PC workstation. The central processing PC workstation is the master control for all Scan-n-Go™ functionality, including interfaces to the Materials Management System, ADT and Billing systems.

Critical Levels

Scan-n-Go™ monitors each departments inventory levels. When a critical inventory level is reached, Scan-n-Go™ instantly processes the replenishment data needs to the appropriate location. The same item can have different critical levels throughout the healthcare system.

Ease of Use

Scan-n-Go™ provides the end user a single button laser scanner that reads the bar code in less than one second with reliable repeatability. Second or third scans are not necessary.

Scan-n-Count™ gives Materials Management full functionality. Like a computer in your hand to do cycle counts, par levels, physical inventory, issue equipment to patients and track equipment throughout the healthcare system.

Scan-n-Go™ offers flexibility to the department to design the room bar code configuration and the convenient location of the laser scanner. This important feature of Scan-n-Go™ gives clinicians the convenience they need, by letting them set up the design that works for them. Providing the right product, at the right place, at the right time.

How Scan-n-Go™ Works

We know hospitals require flexibility in their functionality. Here is how Scan-n-Go™ could work for your hospital by department:

Med.-Surge departments

In these areas, we bar code the room number and the item bin/shelf are bar coded. The nurses simply scan the room number then scan the items they need for their patient.

Equipment Charging

Scan-n-Go™ knows if the item is chargeable, non-chargeable, stock or non-stock. The issuing area simply scans the patient room number bar code then scans the bar-coded equipment label. The equipment is charged to the patent.

Pharmacy Charging

Medications can be charged to the patient direct from the Pharmacy. The pharmacist simply scans the patient’s room number bar code, then scans the bin bar code label for the medication.

Operating Room

OR’s are typically customized to suit existing procedures. The goal of Scan-n-Go™ is to automate existing procedures and eliminate paperwork as much as possible. Typically, Scan-n-Go™ reads the patient medical record number and then the items are scanned to build the procedure case cart.

Justify your Return on investment

How will Scan-n-Go impact your healthcare system’s bottom line?

  • Reduced labor costs.
  • Inventory compression.
  • Improved capture of patient charges.
  • Accurate, timely management information.
  • Increased productivity.

Procedure Chargings

Scan-n-Go™ lets any procedure be scanned in for billing purposes by bar coding all procedures for that department. Again, the patient room or medical record number will be bar coded to charge the patient.

Integration

How does Scan-n-Go™ work with my existing Materials Management, and HIS system? Seamless and transparent. Electronic Healthcare Systems’ years of Supply Chain Management, and interface experience insure a fully integrated system. Whether it is an HL7 compliant interface or a custom interface to your healthcare system’s specifications. It is all part of the Scan-n-Go™ system.

Simple, yet powerful.
